The science of Mudras and Colour Therapy: 05.1 ►POSTURE THAT PUTS AN END TO THE KNEE AILMENT

Method of Posture: Select relief giving posture

You can sit down if you could do so easily. It is always inconvenient to sit on the floor in the case of knee-pain, so you may sit on a chair, wooden bench or bed. You have only to see that you must sit comfortably.

In first place, you sit in convenient position in which you can do easily for the period of 10 to 30 minutes.

Place the palms of both the hands facing each other and the fingertips touching to each other’s. Then clasp the fingers of both the hands keeping the small finger of one hand outside the small finger of the other. The rest of the fingers will clasp among themselves.

Try to bring the fingers up to their root slowly and bring the bulged part of the forearms near each other. As you try to bring the back of palms to meet, the joints of the fingers start paining. Everybody has to face knee pain more or less. Tolerating the quiet as far as you can go ahead. Try to accomplish correct posture as demonstrated in the picture. Possibly you may not do it for more than a minute, don't worry.Progress slowly. Extend one minute daily. By regular practice, you can perform for 20 to 30 minutes within a month's time. When you start performing this posture up to 20 minutes, you will be getting relief from the knee-pain.

After trying this treatment on number of people it revealed that the persons who were suffering from the ailment of knee pain on chronic basis had to try this mudra for longer period. A number of persons found better relief on doing this mudra from one to three months, but many others has to try for desired relief minimum 4 to 6 months.

Duration — Start doing for a minute, increase the practice of this mudra for 10 to 20 minutes. If necessary, practice the mudra twice a day with duration of 10 minutes each time. Taking in to consideration of one's capacity of 20 minutes, the duration can be increased up to half an hour.

Benefits

  1. One finds relief in the knee-pain and regular practice brings good results.
  2. Relief is found in the pain of three joints of hands and legs. Additional care — as far as possible, daily walking and special movement be given to the joint which has pain or swelling. Accurate yogic actions are very helpful.
  3. Yogic postures and actions should be practiced under the guidance of an expert trainer.
  4. Actions of backbone, Tadasana (erect position), Konasana (triangle shape), Kati Chakrasana (waist wheel shape), PaadaHastasana (bending to hold the toes).
Main symptoms of rheumatism, arthritis and knee-pin

Severe pain in joints, swelling and reddishness. Pain felt on touch or movement etc.

Feeling feverish, sometimes complaint of fever.

Odor from perspiration.

Feeling of weakness.

Heaviness in joints, remaining inactive due to idleness.

Inability to walk or move.

Grating sound can be heard, rigidity in knees.

Persistent constipation.

Pain becomes sever in the morning and evening.

This ailment and sorrow make the patient further distressed in winter and rainy season.

Precautions

  1. Saline diet to be taken. Acidic foodstuff or eatables must not be consumed.
  2. Acidic eatables like tea, coffee, bread, omelet, fried meat, roasted things to be totally avoided.
  3. Stale food, tamarind, mango Steen (grainier), raw mango-powder, etc. sour, spicy, pickles, dokla, curds or eatables prepared in curds, diet like bacterial jalebi, wine to be totally prohibited. Besides these bottled cold drinks, shrikhand, mango and beans and peas like pulses, etc. should be used sparingly or should be avoided.
  4. Consumption of fine flour, condensed milk, sugar, hot and pungent spice, chat, bhajiya, vade, kachori, egg, fish, etc. must be prohibited.
  5. Not to sit with folded knee. Pay special attention — make moderate or less use of fan. Make only limited use of fan to avoid heat and restlessness. Try to be in the vicinity of nature.

Knee ailment elimination posture with sharir Preksha (Body Vibrations)

People began to get good relief from knee ailment elimination posture. As people largely benefited from this mudra, they have started practicing it. We have published responses of some people in this book. Many people have cured their knee-pain by practicing this mudra. However, we received a general complaint from the public. They meant to say that when they practice this mudra, they did get relief from the pain, but they felt unbearable ache in fingers and they had to discontinue this exercise only after five minutes. If they sit for a longer duration, they are able to derive more benefit. They entreatedthe author to find out some other remedy so that mankind will be highly obliged. Search began and one day an idea flashed in the mind.

One experiment of Preksha Dhyana method discovered by Acharya Mahapragyaji is body vibrations. In this experiment body vibrates. Vibrations the whole body are experienced e.g. Parinaman (bow), Spandan (beating), Prakampan (vibration), Samvedan (sensation), touch of cloth, itch, perspiration, ache, etc. in the `Sharir preksha' posture a person gives up passions (anger, envy), liberates himself from feelings of love and hate, behaves in balanced state. I have myself experienced this state of mind. In the last stage or phase, when the mind concentrates on the pain or obstruction in the body, and when try to concentrate on the same spot with full strength, the pain lessens gradually or disappears. I thought; why not experiment with body vibrations on knee ailment elimination posture. I had the trainees in three Preksha Dhyana Centers at Kandivli to undertake this posture with release of body and body vibration experiment regularly. The result of all the three centers was positive on the very first day. The pain fingers permanently reduced in all the cases. I also went on increasing the duration of the exercise, slowly. My surprise was boundless when people reported, "Sir, pain was felt 2-3 minutes in the beginning but later on we did not know when the pain in the fingers disappeared. The pain in knees and legs is also much reduced, compared to that in the beginning. Afterwards all the persons used to derive cent per cent benefit by resorting to body vibrations (Sharir Preksha) with knee-ailment elimination mudra. I humbly request the readers to practise this treatment under the guidance of an able instructor or in the training centers for body vibrations with knee-ailment elimination mudra. Experiences of some persons are published in this book.
