Kayotsarg:

Kayotsarg is an important part of Preksha Dhyan Therapy. Kaya + Utsarg means abandoning the body. In other words, discard feeling of all the attachment with the body. Bhed Vigyan is the important aim of practicing the Kayotsarg. In this we experience the difference between body and soul. Kayotsarg leads to relaxation of our body and increase awareness about yourself. It is the best remedy to get rid of physical, mental or emotional stress. In Kayotsarg, the restlessness of the body decreases, body becomes calm and increases consciousness in the body.

In the state of tension, sympathetic system of our body causes tension in the body. After the tensed situation, other part of our body Parasympathetic system, works automatically and it helps to relieve the tension. It helps in bringing stressed muscles back to relaxed state, help them to start normal activities and provide peace. Sympathetic System in the body is of agitating nature whereas Parasympathetic system is of peaceful nature. This Parasympathetic system doesn't work in the tensed situation but it starts working only after it. Through the practise of Kayotsarg we can help activating Parasympathetic System to get relieved from tension.

Practising Kayotsarg regularly in fasting provides following benefits.

1. Physical Level: i) Calmness in the body ii) Relaxation iii) Increase capacity of Immune system. IV) Lightness in the body/ stress free.

2. Mental Level: I) Energetic mind ii) Stress free mind iii) Concentration iv) Mental Balance v) Increase of Patience vi) Reduction of Negative thoughts vii) Increase of will power viii) Increase of politeness.

3. Emotional Level: i) Reduction of excitement ii) Reduction of Anger

4. Spiritual Level: i) Understanding of difference in body and soul ii) Increase of intellectual power iii) Feeling of equality iv) Increase of Self Knowledge

Our body is our important part and by keeping it healthy we move in the direction of better health and success.

To start practicing Kayotsarg, choose a clean and peaceful place. It should be pollution free. Spread a mat on the floor for laying down on it. Don't wear any accessories such as watch, spectacles or any iron keys along with you.

Kayotsarg can be learnt from a Preksha Trainer or at a Preksha Dhyan Center. Person, who learns Kayotsarg systematically and practice it daily, can remain calm in any situation and develop politeness. Hence even in fasting people can pass their time peacefully and happily.

Deep Breathing:

The third part of Preksha Dhyan is Shwas Preksha. Deep Breathing and Contemporary Breathing are two techniques of Shwas Preksha. One is taken naturally and other is taken consciously. With practise we can improve our breathing and small breathing can be converted into deep breathing. A lot of vital energy is required for practising Tapasya. With correct breathing we can get enough fuel, which increases energy level in our body. Hence the more correctly we will breath, the more energy we will et. The more energy we will get, the more successful we will be in our Tapasya. From the scientific point of view, correct and complete breathing can be taken very slowly and peacefully. In the first step, we should exhale our breath completely and empty our lungs. In second step, we should inhale full breath and fill our lungs with air as much as possible. The quantity of Air which fill our lungs is called the capacity of our lungs. On an average one person can inhale 5-6 liters of air in one breath. Before thinking of increasing our inhaling capacity it is important to understand how to use our existing breathing capacity. From the scientific point of view correct breathing is that in which muscles of ribs, collarbone, and diaphragm should be used together. A slow and rhythmic breath is called deep breath and practicing it with full alertness is called Deep Breathing (Shwas Preksha). On an average a person takes 15-19 breaths in one minute. Slowly with regular practice breath can be made longer and it can bring to 10 or less in one minute.

People who do Tapasya, should regularly practice Deep Breathing (Shwas Preksha). This will help them to maintain their energy level. This will help them to inhale required Oxygen for the body.
