Sadhvi Anand Shreeji’s Chaturmas was in Kota. After Pratikramana, the nuns were absorbed in Swadhyaya. Due to the fasting and Pausadha, many other ladies were sleeping in the nun’s place. Phoolbai Pamecha used to stay with the nuns and looked after the place. At about twelve o’clock, she went to second floor to switch off the light. Hardly had she ascended five or six steps, she fell down. She started chanting the Mantra, ‘Om Bhikshu’ sitting at the spot there only. When the other ladies heard the noise of somebody’s falling they came and inquired the matter. She continued the Mantra and requested others to do the same. Nobody could understand what had happened. After sometime, everybody went back to sleep. Each one was scared. It was a new place for the nuns, so they were also worried. The ladies were also worried.
At 4 o’clock in the morning, the nuns were busy in their Mantra and Swadhyaya, but the ladies were sleeping. Suddenly they felt that an ugly black man passed from their side and so everyone was frightened.
In the morning Phoolbai came to the nuns. Everybody felt that an ugly black man passed all the from there. Seeing him everybody they asked her, “What had happened in the night? How did you fall down?” After fully explaining what happened to her she said, “I have stayed in this place for a number of times but I saw nothing. Last night when I was going upstairs, I saw a dark, ugly man. The moment I ascended five or six steps, he caught my hand and pushed me. I was trembling with fear. At that time I started chanting “Om Bhikshu.” I felt an inner strength within me. After chanting the Mantra for around two ours, I saw a monk in white clothes. Seeing that monk, the evil soul left my hands, but he still stood beside me. Though I was trembling, still '1 kept on reciting the Mantra. A-round 4 o’clock that evil soul said, “You have got the divine energy from the Mantra so I am defeated and went away.”
This way the nuns came to know that whatever they saw at 4 a. m., was not- an illusion but truth. The nuns and the other ladies saw the same figure which was described by Phoolbai. Thus with unanimous approval from the other ladies, Phoolbai’s statement was confirmed. Owing to her faith and trust in Swamiji, the timid lady became very strong and created deep impact of Swamiji in other’s heart.
