Miracle Of Faith: 27 ►Thoughts changed the heart

Published: 27.12.2019

Jaicliandlalji Daftari of Sardarshahar had a prominent place in the Terapanth society. He had an evergreen personality with rich work experience. Acharya Shree Tulsi had mentioned his name in his lectures. His courage was extraordinary. He was staunch devotee of Acharya Tulsi.

He had a paper-factory in Nainital. His labourers were mainly Punjabis. Once the labourers demanded an increase in their wages, but Dafatariji refused. This enraged the Punjabi workers. They conspired to kill him. However, due to the interference of someone the situation cooled down but still the labourers were excited. They openly threatened to kill him at night. Dafatariji was naturally afraid of this threat as he saw the ire of revenge in their eyes. As the surrounding area was full of Punjabis, nobody was there to support Dafatariji. He was very much upset by this grave situation. He was too frightened to think of any solution. He started to recite the Mantra, ‘Om Bhikshu’ with deep concentration. While chanting the Mantra, he was also praying, “Swamiji! You are my saviour. I am your devotee. Only your divine power can save me. O God! I am truthful as well as honest. It is the time of my examination. If I get through this test, I will dedicate most of my time in the service of Terapanth Order.”

Thus he made concrete armour of thoughts to protect himself and continued to recite the Mantra. In the desolate room, that brave person took the support of Swamiji and continued to chant the Mantra throughout the night and night.

Right at midnight, some persons fully equipped with arms entered the building where he was reciting the Mantra. They peeped in through the window and to their astonishment they saw Dafatariji sitting in meditation. Suddenly their thoughts changed and they murmured among themselves, “The owner has not been unjust to us, then why should we kill him? If we need higher Wages, we can leave this job or we can express our ideas in some other way. Let us not kill him.”

Their intention changed and with it their hearts filled with compassion for the meditating man and the whole situation changed. Early in the morning, the labourers came to Dafatariji and apologized for their actions. They requested him to think of their welfare and repented for their sinful conspiracy. This was the magic of Bhikshu’s name that turned negative intentions into positive ones.
