Education is the foundation of total development in the life. Personality is framed with it. In the field of education, Science of Living is the fundamental experiment amongst all the experi­ments performed. A student is taught more experimentally than through theory. The main problems of education are taken in to consideration while bringing this education into the subject. The values are falling down in spite of the development of the educa­tion. Once again to establish the values of the life and for the total development of personality, the subject Science of Living has com­menced. The innovator of Science of Living is - Anuvrat Anushasta Acharyashree Tulsi and Acharyashree Mahapragya has elaborated it. At present Acharyashree Mahapragya is the formulator of all the aspects of Science of Living.

Science of Living "A Value Oriented Education''

In the new educational system, the voice of value-oriented education is on the top. This is new dimension of moral education. The Central Government is working towards the value added educa­tion. On the basis of reports obtained from the education and re­search study of Science of Living by the educationists appointed by N.C.E.R.T. New Delhi, (an undertaking of Indian Govt.) have ac­cepted that the syllabus of Science of Living is complete and relevant for the value oriented education. The following is their comment by this organization N.C.E.R.T. -

"The study is highly relevant in developing Human Values amongst children at school stage. The present research is a well thought out and properly convened study. Its findings have practical implications for Values education at the school stage. The findings have implication for policy formulation in respect of textual material..... "

Aims of science of living

The science of living is useful with an intention of bal­ancing and bringing the compositeness in the present system of education.

The basis of Balanced Education System are -

  1. Physical development
  2. Intellectual development
  3. Mental development
  4. Emotional development
  5. Spiritual development

Present education stresses more on intellectual devel­opment and little on physical development and neglects the other bases of balanced education. To provide for totality in the edu­cation, the basic goals of Science of Living are:

  1. Balanced vital energy.
  2. Balanced living.
  3. Awakening the faith in the self-capability.
  4. Removal of vision defect and purification in behavior and emotions.
  5. Establishment of moral and human values for the de­velopment of sincerity, human integration, co-existence and re­straint
  6. Establishment of the human values for development of the power of determination, concentration, mental balance, re­moval of stress etc.
  7. Establishment of emotional values through which the impulses will be under control, pride and negative feelings will be refined.

Development of spiritual philosophy with which the de­velopment of self-introspection and self-examination will be en­hanced.
