Science of Living in Class Room

In a school there are formal definite subjects, which a student has to study period wise according to the set timetable following one period after the other. There is no break in between the continuous 4 to 5 periods and during these periods the concentration reduces, student becomes tired, the interest towards the subject reduces, the freshness goes. A short exercise form Science of Living is available as a solution to these problems. The practice of certain short exercises, if performed before the beginning of the next period that become beneficial to the students.

These short practices are being chosen from activities in the prayer assembly. The monitor of the class can lead the class. As such in between the exit of the previous teacher and before the entry of the next teacher, there is a gap of 2 to 3 minutes, as is generally seen. The use of these 2 to 3 minutes should be taken up for the following short practices:

  1. Before the commencement of the first period, practise Mahaprana dhvani 3 times. Experience - the body is steady, mind is concentrated, and the feeling of peace. I will properly assimilate my lesson.
  2. In the beginning of the second period, resolve," I am powerful; the energy is being filled up in each and every cell of my body. I will properly learn my lesson."

  3. In the beginning of the third period, practise Mahaprana dhavni 3 times and resolve," I will properly learn my lesson."

  4. In the beginning of the fourth period, practise Perception of Deep Breathing. Resolve,'I will properly absorb my lesson."

  5. After the interval (recess), and in the beginning of the fifth period, practise the short Kayotsarg and also Resolve," I will properly learn my lesson."

  6. In the beginning of the sixth period practise Tadasana and resolve," I will properly learn my lesson."

  7. In the beginning of the seventh period, practise "Perception of Gyan kendra" and resolve," I will properly learn my lesson."

  8. In the beginning of the eighth period, think and ask to yourself with closed eyes, "I have attended all my classes with awareness. Where did I lack behind? Why was this lacking?" Write the answer in your diary.

NOTE

These practises are only a suggestion. There is no harm if students perform any different short practise before the beginning of subsequent periods.

Science of Living at Home

A student should reach home joyfully from the school. He must narrate the remarkable part of his daily school routine after greeting the guardians. He should not get upset if the guardian does not pay any attention to it, whenever the chance occurs; he must tell them. He must maintain the joyfulness.

Follow the set schedule daily routine according to your life style. Some time the instances of tiredness and stress do occur in this daily routine. At the end of every hour of work at home perform the following short exercises:

  1. Tadasana, Konasana, Padhahastasana as per your choice.
  2. Mahaprana dhavni
  3. Deep Breathing
  4. Mini Kayotsarg
  5. Yog-nidra - for the sound as well as deep sleep and for restoring the vital energy, the following practise must be performed. Sleeping with awareness is Yog-nidra.

The method to practice Yog Nidra is as follows: -

  • Resolve, "I am entering the session of Yog-nidra".
  • Relax the body.
  • Concentrate your mind on the breath and imagine that Patience and Peace is entering within along with every breath.
  • Patience and Peace is spreading in each and every cell of the body.
  • While exhaling have a feeling that Patience and Peace is creating a sheath within and around the body.
  • Pre-suppose the wake up time eg.(5 a.m.).
  • Go to sleep being in gratitude towards your Lord.
