Jeevan Vigyan - A Guide Of Teachers Training: 06.6 ►Practise for De-Addiction

Given below are the 8 practises to achieve freedom from addiction:

  1. Perception of Deep Breathing                                     20 min.

    1. Mahapranadhvani                                                    2 min.
    2. Kayotsarg                                                                 5 min.
    3. Perception of Deep Breathing                                   5 min.
      1. Perception of breathing at naval                      5 min.
      2. Perception of breathing at both nostrils           5 min.
    4. Accomplish of practise with Mahapranadhavani        3 min.

  2. Perception of Psychic Centers                                    20 min.

    1. Mahapranadhavni                                                      2 min.
    2. Kayotsarg                                                                   5 min.
    3. Meditation with green colour at Apramad Kendra
    4. Perception at right ear                                               5 min.
    5. Perception at left ear                                                  5 min.
    6. Accomplish of practise with Mahapranadhavni           3 min.

  3. Practise of Contemplation                                            20 min.

    1. Mahapranadhavni                                                          2 min.
    2. Kayotsarg                                                                       5 min.
    3. Concentrate on Darshan Kendra (Center of Intuition) and contemplate,"I am becoming addiction free". Slowly repeate this sentence for 2 min. and then mentally chant for 3 min. with a visualization of bright words on your mental screen.           3 min.
    4. Recall -"I am being addiction free. Lot of diseases do occur because of liquor and tobacco. Liver gets dam­aged, lungs gets damaged. The possibility of heart dis­eases and cancer increases. Bronchial tube gets affected because of smoking. These elements of intoxicates are injurious to health. Hence now I will not use them. It is my strong determination that now I will never smoke use drugsand drink alcohol etc. Now I am free from addiction. 7 min.
    5. Mahapranadhavni                                                          1 min

  4. Practise of resolution power

    Create the atmosphere according to chosen resolve by being steady in Sukhasana and reciting the sound of Arham.

    Resolve -1 resolve witnessing my soul and Guru, " I will practice successfully to achieve resolution power".

    Place left hand at naval. Practise Bhastrika.

    Concentrate on breathing and maintain the equal speed of inhalation and exhalation. Along with this, resolve that, "My vital energy is being activated by the breath. Life force has started to flow from my right thumb towards the right index finger. Pran is flowing in a speedy way from index finger to the middle finger, from middle finger to the ring finger and from ring finger to the little finger".

    After a little while, the tickling sensation will be felt in the hands. As the desire will speed up its uniformity, the experience of gross hand will not be there. At that point, create a mental picture with the determination or experience that you are sitting in front of the mirror and your face is seen clearly in it.

    Your subtle hand is rising slowly and is touching the cen­ter of your forehead - Darshan Kendra. You will enter in a state of meditation automatically and an unimaginable bliss will be experienced at that state.

    At this occasion put the practioners for the contempla­tion of addiction (No.3). Minimum time for the resolve is 15 min. It can be extended as per personal convenience.

  5. Practise of Inscence (non winking of eyes)

    Suggestion of freedom is being made along with the con­templation of Inscence. lake the position of Sukhasana with spine erect. During this practise of contemplation of Inscence, comtemplate upon the Darshan Kendra or at the whole fore­head of the practioner unblinkly. The eyelids should not be closed or the eyes should not blink. To look without winking of the eyes is the perception of Inscence. The person who is instructing in the practise should encourage the practitioner to look without winking the eyes or make him perform Trataka looking at one point on the wall, without blinking.

    Close the eyes when tears appear. Visualize the same spot with closed eyes. After some time, give a suggestion,' the eyelids have become heavy'. The eyes will start getting close automatically. Once the eyes get closed, give suggestion that the mind has concentrated at Darshan Kendra. As the concentra­tion increases, the practitioner enters into the state of medita­tion. During these moments, the suggestion of freedom from addiction and the practise of desire for contemplation is being made.

    During the deep meditation in freedom from addiction, use small sentences for practise, I am free from the addiction. I will not use the intoxicating substances. Strong foul smell is com­ing from liquor, tobacco, etc. which are intoxicating substances. Now I will not use any intoxicating substance. I am free from addiction'.

    These types of arrangement of words in a sentence should be framed according to different addictions and habits. Chanting of Rhum is the practice of mantra (leave the lips open). Experi­ence that the negativity is leaving your system. Practise:

    1. Shashankasana and
    2. Karnapeedasana (for 1 min each Asana)

  6. Exercises for Ears

    Place the index finger inside the ear rotating it to the right and left. Massage around the outer part of the ear. Pull the ears up and down 10 times. Close them tightly with palms and listen to the inner sound. Inhalation and exhalation will remain as usual. After that meditate at Apramad Kendra. Perceive neutrally the sensa­tions taking place there by concentrating the mind at these points of ears.

  7. Practise of Pranayama

  8. Anulom Vilom for 3 minutes. Inhale through nose and exhale through mouth.

  9. Practise of Mudra

    Practise of deep breathing in Gyan Mudra. inhale for 5 seconds, hold breath for 5 seconds and then exhale for 5 seconds and hold for 5 seconds. For one long breath, 20 seconds will be required. Practise twice a day for 3 minutes till 2 weeks.
