The useful work being done under the leadership of Acharya Shri Tulsi is in consonance with my own ideas and I am prepared to use all my energy for its furtherance. At present ignorance has spread its darkness all over the world. When religious and moral unrest is all-pervasive, no matter how ambitious plans we make, how huge factories we start and no matter what steps we take for introducing cooperative farming and other things, everything is going to be of no avail unless humanity is further developed. Without it we are in for total disaster.

In this nuclear age it is imperative that our daily life be based on and governed by the principles of religion, compassion, friendship, morality and spirituality. India was fortunate to have at such a time a great man who, besides giving a new shape to our freedom movement, gave a popular platform to religion and morality. This man was Mahatma Gandhi. He left it to us to complete his noble task. We are lucky to have people like Acharya Tulsi and Vinoba Bhava carrying on the work started by the Mahatma.

I cannot align myself with those innumerable saints and ascetics who are still carrying on with their individual spiritual quest in the mountains and the caves. However great they might be, I have nothing to do with them since they are of no use to society. From this point of view it is remarkable that Acharya Tulsi is busy at once with his personal spiritual quest and with the service of society. I pray that this most useful work continues through Acharya Tulsi's innumerable monks and nuns.
