Pūrvavat Anumāna

A kind of Anumāna (inference);

the Pratyabhijñāna (recognition) of an object inferred on the basis of the identity of the presented datum with past-the already known middle term; for example-To infer rainfall seeing the heavy clouds in the sky.

pūrvopalabdhenaiva liṅgeṇa nāṇakaraṇaṃ.
