The Anaśana (fast unto death) which is undertaken by the ascetic inside the upāśraya (the place of sojourn of the ascetic).
'nīhārime ya' tti nirhāreṇa nirvṛttaṃ yattannirhārimaṃ, pratiśraye yo mriyate tasyaitat, tatkaḍevarasya nirhāraṇāt.
