Tiryaksāmānya

The Sāmānya (generic character of an object) which is equally obtained in each individual (of a group); e.g., pitcherhood in each pitcher (wheather it is of gold or clay).

tulyā pariṇatirbhinnavyaktiṣu yattaducyate. tiryaksāmāny amity eva ghaṭatvaṃ tu ghaṭeṣviva...

prativyakti tat tiryaksāmāny am, yathā - vata- nimbādiṣu vṛkṣatvam.
