SHRI MAHAVIR SWAMI PANCH KALYANAK PUJA - SATURDAY, 08/11/18

Our Member Family Dr. Natawarlal & Manjulaben Shah sends out their Warm Invitation to the whole JSGD Sangh to join in the Puja (Mahavir Panch Kalyanak Puja) on Sat, 08/11 @ 10:00 AM at Jain Temple. Puja will be followed by Swamivatsalya Lunch.

PANCH TIRTH YATRA - FRIDAY, 08/17 THRU SUNDAY, 08/19/18

JSGD has planned a Yatra this year from 08/17 to 08/19. This year we will be going to CANADA and planned to visit temples in Windsor; London; Toronto; and Niagara Falls.

We have now 85 Yatris already registered. We thank all registered yatris and wish them safe, fun-filled yatra. Please note that there are ONLY FEW SPOTS open. If you still like to join in this Yatra, please fill out the registration form and send it back with Swamivatsalya RSVP to the address listed on the form as soon as possible.

ONE MAIN REQUIREMENT FOR THIS YATRA IS "ALL YATRIS NEED TO BE EITHER AN AMERICAN PASSPORT HOLDER OR GREEN CARD HOLDER". Thank you.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JSGD 2018 - SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WINNERS

This year JSGD has started a new Scholarship and Loan Award program to support the college dreams of our society students living in Michigan (US) and Ontario (CA). Award ceremony took place on 7/28/2018 after study class at temple. The distribution of awards honors eight young students this year. Total of six scholarships were awarded based on merit, ($ 500 each) and two scholarships were based on financial need ($ 2000 each).

These Individuals won on merit based are; Utsav Lathia, Mihir Zaveri, Chintan Maheshwari, Sonia Petrucci, Riya Shah and Kush Madhani. Two additional youth Shilpi Shah and Rishab Jain were also "The Recipient of Special Award".

Our recipients of this award have shown outstanding academic performance and service to the community at large (not just including JSGD). Some of the remarkable and memorable achievements of these students are;
  • Organized fundraisers and donated over $48,000 to 3 charity organizations.
  • Guided families / students moving into the dorms when they first move to campus. Now they are building a structure to sustain the process.
  • Career development director helping to mentor other youngsters. Despite a rigorous college’s schedule, Swamivatsalya RSVP
  • Volunteer to help save babies with pulmonary issues, keeping a goal to return after graduation as a study class teacher.
  • Active volunteer for Rotary Interact
We could not be prouder of our recipients, and are excited to establish this tradition at our temple. Please join us in congratulating them for their honorable achievements!
