Today is Raksha Bandhan (a Hindu festival of brothers and sisters. On this day sisters bind a thread on brother's wrist for a promise to make her safe from every trouble) His Holiness Acharya Mahashraman preached in today's Prime about Raksha Bandhan - a tradition is going on of Raksha Bandhan on the day of Shravan Purnima (15 day of the month Shravan Shukla phase according to Hindu Calendar). This is the occasion which expressed the relationship between brother and sister. It is fine that relations and the matter of supporting each other stay in the practical life. Some authenticity maybe found in that. Both brother and sister should protect their souls from the evil deeds. May we all get the inspiration of protecting the soul. This festival of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated as bonding Rakhee or giving gifts and also it gives the strength to social and familial relationships. Brothers and sisters meet each other due to this. Sisters come to their parental home for Rakhee purposes and get a chance to meet with parental family members once in a year. So this is a festival of social and familial relationships and affection purpose. The spiritual phase of this festival is that we should make soul protected from the evil deeds. We can also take this inspiration from this festival of Raksha Bandhan.
