which is usually used for the image (Pratima) of Bhagawan in the temples and for the Platform, which is used for delivering the sermon (Vyakhyan/Vachana)

by Acharya Bhagawants. This is known as "CHHOD"..

Ashtapad Pujan during Paryushan - Sun, Aug 27, 2017

Jain center of Southern California is planning to hold "Ashtapadji Puja" with memorable replica of "Ashtapad Tirth" and 24 Tirthankars, on Sunday, August 27 2017.

JCSC has planned to bring all 24 Tirthankars, made in pure marble and decent carving of 9 inch height Pratimajis from India.

Persons taking Labh of Pratimaji Bharavanu will carry the Pratimaji in the procession.

Persons taking Labh of Pratimaji Sthapna will do the Pokhna, receive the Pratimaji, do the Sthapna on the Astapad and after the Pujan, install this Pratimaji in their house for ever.

18 Abhishek labh of these pratimaji’s, on Saturday August 26 2017 will be shared by families taking labh of Bharvanu and Sthapna. Two members from each family.

We are glad to inform you that we are receiving lot of pledges for Pratimaji Bharavanu and Pratimaji Sthapna.

Also quite a few people have taken labh of both Pratimaji Bharavanu and Sthapna.

JCSC will announce details of Asthapadji Puja as the time comes.

Ashtapad Tirth is one of the five major Tirths in the Jain Religion.

It is supposed to be situated in the tranquil heights of snow clad Himalayas and is open to the skies. As per Jain scriptures, the first Tirthankar Bhagwan Rishabhdev had attained nirvana on the Ashtapad Mountain. His son Chakravarti King Bharat built the Astapad Tirth in crystal and gemstones as a memorial to commemorate the nirvana of Tirthankars. The name “Ashtapad” is derived from the fact that there are eight (Ashta) steps (Pad) leading to this Tirth.

We know about Gautamswami's supreme power/labdhi -ability to travel on the rays of sun-to get there,to feed Kheer from single bowl to 1500 aspirants and King of Lanka Ravan and his wife Mandodari also went for Ashtapad Yatra.

It is called Asthapad perhaps because there are eight mountain peaks. It is believed that Yatra to this Tirth guaranteed Moksha at the end of present life.

We will do Bhav Yatra on Asthapad with Asthapadji puja on August 27th,Sunday.
