Nashik: The first 'mahamastakabhisheka' ritual of the record 108-ft tall idol of lord Rishabhnatha in Mangi Tungi entered in its final phase on Tuesday. The darshan and abhishek facility would now be open for common visitors until March 6. "Many devotees could not register for the religious event due to various reasons. Those wanting to perform the mastakabhisheka can now visit the place anytime till March 6," said Suvarna Kale, spokesperson of the event. However, vehicle facility will be strictly limited to senior citizens and physically challenged devotees.

Pilgrims from Karnataka, Kolhapur and Sangli circle performed the mahamastakabhisheka on February 29. In all, Mangi Tungi recorded 17 lakh footfalls by the end of February. The figure is set to touch the 20 lakh mark by March 7.
