The Enigma Of The Universe : 4. Realism of the Scientists

Published: 28.08.2014

The scientists who advocate realism contend that the objects which we comprehend and perceive have independent objective existence of their own. They exist really even if they are not perceived by any percipient. In the words of Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker, "Nature is earlier than man."[1] Realism is interpreted differently by different scientists, consequently giving birth to Simple or Naive Realism, Materialism, Positivism etc., yet all of them assert the fact that the universe has an objectively real existence.
