Human mind is an ocean of inquisitiveness and curiosity. Every now and then the waves of questions spring forth in it. As Don as man perceives by his senses the phenomena and the objects 1 (he external world, 'how' and 'why' knock at the door of his mind. Man tries to find answers to them by his rational, intellectual and intuitional powers.

As a result, the stream of knowledge begins to flow. A person, who replies to those questions with the help of his high intuitional power, is a philosopher. While, one, who replies to them with the help of his rational and intellectual powers, is a scientist. Philosophy and sciences are two powerful branches of the same stream of knowledge, which have been ceaselessly trying to satisfy the curious mind of man. He has succeeded in subsiding some of those waves, but there are some which still confront him.

Some of the most important questions of all are about the Universe. "What is the Universe?" "What is the shape of the Universe? "," How big is the Universe? "When did the Universe begin?" "When will the Universe end?" etc. are the questions which have presented an intricate enigma before man. The scientists have tried to solve this enigma from the very beginning of that branch of knowledge. On the other hand the philosophers have also not kept mum over them. Different solutions have been given by different philosophers.
