Stress is experienced when more work is taken from the body beyond its capacity. Because of excessive memories.thinking and imagination one come under stress. Emotional system of a person is filled up with stress because of too much ego, anger, craving and fraud etc. A person attains stress due to physical, mental and emotional problems. It becomes essential to search reasons and find remedies.

Internal causes of stress   

  1. Illusion
  2. Unlimited craving.
  3. Unrestricted impulses
  4. Laziness carelessness.
  5. Unsteadiness

External causes of stress

  1. Work load
  2. Tension due to lack of time.
  3. Load of information.

Symptoms of a stress afflicted person

  1. Physical Symptoms:     
    1. Stressed muscles.
    2. Irregular breathing pattern. 
    3. Dryness in the mouth.
    4. Sweating in the palms.
    5. Hands and legs get cold.
    6. Shivering in the hands
    7. Frequent urination.
    8. Diarrhea because of disturbed digestive system.

  2. Casual Causes :
    1. Habit of intoxication.
    2. Confused life style.
    3. Lack of socialization.
    4. Stressful postures - for eg. Nail biting.

  3. Emotional Causes:
    1. Irritability,
    2. Aggressiveness,
    3. Worry,
    4. Dissatisfaction,
    5. Feeling of insecurity,
    6. Insomnia,
    7. Nightmares,
    8. Fickleness,
    9. Wailing,
    10. Anger,
    11. Forgetfulness,
    12. Lack of Creativity

Diseases due to Stress :

  1. Walk in fresh air (for 2 to 3 K.M.)
  2. Restraint diet - use fat less milk, salad, fresh fruits, fresh veg­etables, satvic food.
  3. Restricted food items - avoid salt, sugar, liquor, meat, eggs, excessive oily food, ghee, Rajsik and Tamsik food.
  4. Asana, Pranayama, Yogic Exercises, Sun salutations, Tadasana,Padahastasana, Vajrasana, Shashank asana, Ardhamatsyendrasana,Paschimotasana,Bhujangasana, Shalbhasana, Uttanpadasana, Pavanmuktasana
  5. Kayotsarg - practice of relaxation for whole body in laying position. (20 minutes)
  6. Preksha Meditation - Mahapranadhvani, Perception of deep breathing, Perception of Jyoti Kendra (Centre of enlighten­ment (20 minutes)
  7. Contemplation - Control over illusory outlook, Craving, Unsteadiness and impulses etc. are also the reasons to stress.
  8. Self Study - The study of right literature is also useful for change in outlook.
