Unit 9. Mental Health

Positive thinking and peaceful behavior is developed through mental health.


By meditating on thoughtlessness, welfare of human being is achieved.
With calm mind and sharp intelligence, a person becomes alert and attains wisdom.

Principle Content

  1. To live with healthy mind and to be stress free every time.
  2. To understand the solutions for psychosomatic diseases.
  3. To know the functioning of mind- maintain restraint.
  4. Importance of right attitude- steadiness and concentration.

Practice and Activities

  1. Kayotsarg - To preserve mental energy, live stress free life.
  2. Breath perception.
  3. Internal trip exercise.
  4. Asanas and Pranayama. 

Learning Outcomes

  1. Smartness, freedom from stress and concentration is achieved.
  2. Liberation of Negative thoughts.
  3. Mental equilibrium and change of attitude.
  4. Balanced role of brain and restoration of energy.
  5. Increase in wisdom.

Unit 10. Emotional Health

Balance in passions and excitement, purity in emotions develops emotional health.


Mutual trust is developed through pure emotions. Impure thoughts always destroy the noble qualities.

Principle Content

  1. Positive and negative emotions.
  2. Methods to change emotions for better health.
  3. Awakening of understanding - critical study of what is good/bad, necessary/ unnecessary, etc.
  4. Passion and impulse- to control them; physiology and Bhavkriya.
  5. Relation of colours with the emotional systems.

  1. Practise of meaningful songs affecting emotions.
  2. Kayotsarg
  3. Development of positive emotions- practice of resoluteness.
  4. Attitudinal Change - perception of psychic centers.
  5. Contemplation of emotions
  6. Practice of Leshya Meditation.

  1. Change in nature - removal of excitement, development of firmness.
  2. Emotional steadiness and balance; control over passions.
  3. Development of neurotic power- development of memory as well as knowledge and intelligence.
  4. Up keeping emotional health.
