Acharya Tulsi - A Peacemaker Par Excellence: Jainendra Kumar | Dr. Harivash Rai Bachan

An Energetic and Dynamic Personality

Acharya Tulsi is one of those people who lend dignity and honour to the office they hold. He is the unchallenged head of Terapanth sect of Jainism and this is no small office. But Acharya Tulsi is so dynamic and energetic a man that the office he holds pales into insignificance before his greatness. He is both spiritual and worldly at the same time. By the looks of him, he is a Jain Acharya but his deep humanity and inner purity have endeared him to all sections of society. During all these days of my contact with him I have never found him dull even for a moment. He is ever awake and ever alert. His personal dynamism permeates the atmosphere around him. He never yields to difficulties, but accepts all challenges with utmost confidence and faith. He is a curious blend of tradition and modernity. His qualities of leadership are also commendable, particularly because he has undertaken the onerous task of leading society to an ideal state of selflessness and contentment. His means to achieve such an ideal are not fear and temptation but his inner moral strength and illumination.

Acharya Tulsi is truly an architect of a new era. He has raised the Jain scriptures from the level of mere textuality to that of living faith. He has made religious aphorisms a vehicle of purposeful living, with the result that religion has been revitalized and refurbished.

The present civilization is mainly economic and political. It has registered unprecedented progress through scientific inventions and discoveries. But science itself has now reached a critical stage whre it cannot but accept the supremacy of moral values.

Acharya Tulsi duly understands the above situation and he has pressed into service all his energies for solving the crisis facing mankind.

Salutation

Who is unfamiliar with Acharyashree's noble work? Even a self-centred man like me has had the privilege being blessed by him. One day he was so kind as to sanctify my residence with the touch of his holy feet and oblige me with his darshan.

I am not competent to speak about him. Kindly convey my salutation to him.
