The World of Duality:

We are living in a world full of duality. Let us take the following examples:

◆Duality in Body — Thirst and hunger

◆Duality in Nature — Hot and cold

◆Duality in the Mind — Stress caused by two conflicting desires

◆Duality in Emotions — Caused by two conflicting emotions

Take the example of a person who wants to lead a life based on virtues but when one sees others who are leading the life of inequities, such as people who have amassed a lot of wealth, big houses, big cars etc. and in fact everything to live a comfortable life. This shakes - up the resolve of leading a virtuous life, and finally driven by temptation, the person thinks, "What is the benefit of being honest? Immorality can make mea rich person. Through morality I cannot earn limitless money.’ This is an illustration of duality in conflicting desires. On one side is a desire to lead a virtuous life and on the other, a desire to become rich and own big houses. Such duality in daily life is common and is a source of a lot of consternation in people's lives.
