Pāpānubandhī Pāpa

There lives a butcher in Magadha city. He enjoyed his job. One day, King Sṛeṇika decided that there should be no more killing in the city. All killing in the city was stopped except this butcher's killing. When he was asked why he did not obey king śṛeṇika's command?

He said he loved killing and could not stop. King śṛeṇika decided to put him in almost dry well, so that there would be nothing to kill. To everyone a surprise, the killing did not stop their even. The butcher made animals with wet clay and then pretended to kill them. Since he was enjoying killing so much, he accumulated pāpa (bad karmas) which give rise to a situation where he could do nothing other than continue killing. This is Fruition of karma.
