Potential of Pranayam:

Man has made a lot of progress and has made five sources of knowledge come out. It is difficult to create the sixth source. In some people these knowledge centers are naturally developed but not in all people.

Through the practice of pranayam it is possible to unveil the obstruction blocking the flow of rays of knowledge and a new point can be developed. Once a person achieves perfection in the practice of pranayam and compatibility of the body it is then possible to establish many sources - sources’ for Intuition, Intelligence and Wisdom. To awaken these sources, it is essential to restrain or control the pran or vital energy. Developing an ability to restrain the Pran energy gives rise to the states of being that are unimaginable for a common person.

Acharya Bhadrabahu practiced Mahapran meditation (regulating the pran energy) for twelve years and achieved such a subtle flow of pran energy that it was difficult to detect if he was even breathing. Once such a state is achieved, pran energy or breathing is stopped, and there is no such difference of inhaling and exhaling. There is a detonation inside that exposes the higher consciousness. This is the ultimate potential of pranayam, which is worth noting. Many times, it is difficult to discern the truth. People who are able to experience their inner "self" achieve an understanding of truth, which is very different from those who do not.
