श्रमण डॉ. पुष्पेन्द्र ने राज्यपाल श्री कलराज मिश्र को पत्र लिखकर उनसे आग्रह किया है कि जैन धर्मोंपासको के महत्वपूर्ण अष्ट दिवसीय पयूषण महापर्व के अंतिम दिवस दिनांक- 11 सितंबर ‘संवत्सरी’ पर राजस्थान के विश्वविद्यालय स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर की परीक्षाओं का आयोजन तत्काल प्रभाव से स्थगित हो या परीक्षा तिथि में परिवर्तन किया जाए।
डॉ. पुष्पेन्द्र ने राजस्थान सरकार द्वारा इस वर्ष के सार्वजनिक व ऐच्छिक अवकाशों का हवाला देते हुए पत्र में लिखा कि जब सरकार द्वारा ‘संवत्सरी पर्व’ पर ऐच्छिक अवकाश तय है फिर विश्वविद्यालयों को उस दिवस परीक्षाओं का आयोजन नहीं करना चाहिए।
सरकार के इस रवैये से भगवान महावीर स्वामी के प्रति आस्था रखने वाले लाखों जैन श्रद्धालुओं और शिक्षकों की भावनाएं आहत हुई है। इससे समाज में रोष व्याप्त है। संवत्सरी पर्व पर परीक्षाओं में सम्मिलित होने वाले जैन युवक - युवतियाँ को उनकी धर्म क्रियाओं से वंचित होना पढ़ेगा, क्यूँकि इस दिन जैन श्रद्धालु उपवास रखकर प्रातःकाल गुरु दर्शन, शास्त्र श्रवण, आलोचना व सायंकाल प्रतिक्रमण करते हैं जो कि उस दिवस की उनकी धर्मचर्या का अभिन्न अंग होता है। ऐसे में परीक्षा देने एवं समाज से जुडे शिक्षक परीक्षा कराने में व्यस्त रहेंगे। इस कारण उनके साथ उनके पूरे परिवार को भी संवत्सरी पर्व की साधना - आराधना से वंचित रहना होगा।
श्रमण डॉ. पुष्पेन्द्र ने सकल जैन समाज की और से राज्यपाल से आग्रह किया कि दिनांक- 11 सितंबर ‘सम्वत्सरी’ के दिन विश्वविद्यालयों द्वारा आयोजित होने वाली सभी परीक्षाओ की तिथि में परिवर्तन किया जाए तथा आगामी भविष्य में भी जैन समुदाय के सार्वजनिक और ऐच्छिक अवकाश के दिन किसी भी प्रकार की परीक्षाओ का आयोजन नही हो।
