Meditation Retreat - May 25 - May 27, 2019

Meditation Retreat - (May 25 - 27, 2019) starting at 7:00 AM Everyday

In keeping with the tradition of the past 4 years, JCSC is again pleased to announce a "Meditation Retreat" over the Memorial Day weekend presented by Shrimad Rajchandra Mission, Dharampur, Los Angeles Center, in the Aradhana Hall during Saturday, May 25th to Monday, May 27th from 7 am to 7 pm everyday.

This is a powerful program which initiates a seeker into meditation. The program includes morning and evening prayers, yoga, meditation, introspection, jaap and Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai's discourse videos.To get the most benefit, it is preferred to observe maun for 72 hours and attend the program for all three days. However, if that is not possible, you may choose to attend one or two days and must observe maun for a minimum of 12 hours during the program sessions.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided each day at no charge.


All participants are requested to:

· Be on time.

· Attend all sessions during the day.

· Observe Maun for a minimum of 12 hours during the daily sessions.

· Wear white clothes.

· Bring your Samayik kit if you plan to do Samayik.

· Bring a Meditation chair, if needed.

Invitation to the First Annual Shrimad Rajchandra Lecture at UC Riverside - May 28, 2019

As Shrimad Rajchandra Endowed Chair in Jain Studies, we are happy to invite you to the First Annual Shrimad Rajchandra Lecture at UC Riverside on Tuesday, May 28 at 4:10 pm. The lecture "Domestic Devotion: Jain Wooden House Shrines in American Museum Collections" will be delivered by Dr. John Cort (Denison University), one of the most prominent scholars in Jain Studies.

The opening remarks will be given by Associate Dean for Arts and Humanities Kiril Tomoff and the lecture will be followed by a vegan Jain dinner reception.

TAPOVAN NRI Shibir 2019 - For NRI Kids

NRI Shibir aims at Preparing Next Generation NRI Kids with Strong Faith and Belief towards Jain Morals & Values! Tapovan NRI Shibir 2019 - an Exclusive Event for NRI Kids held near Ahmedabad, Gujrat. This is 7th year of Shibir and seats are limited.

Date: 14 July to 21 July, 2019

Age Groups:

Group 1: Boys (7 Years to 12 Years)

Group 2: Boys (12 Years to 18 Years)

Group 3: Girls (7 Years to 12 Years)

In the past couple of years, many pathshala kids have attended this shibir. To encourage participation by JCSC Pathshala kids, anonymous members have offered reward and sponsorship of up to $1,200 for the first five kids. Yogesh & Saurabh Shah have offered free Palitana 99 Yatra for JCSC members with all expenses and necessary supplies. Yatra will start from Palitana.
