Samyag Darshan Shibir - July 12 - 14,2019

Jai Jinendra,

Jain Center of Southern California (JCSC) has organized a Shibir on Samyag Darshan led by Dr Jitendra Shah from Ahemadabad, India during Friday-Sunday July 12-14, 2019. Please Click Here to see Dr. Jitendra Shah's Profile/Biodata.

This is a first shibir of this kind to be held in USA. Dr Jitendra Shah has conducted over 25 such shibirs all over India with over 6,500 attendees so far. Most shibirs generally are over booked well in advance. The language will be Gujarati. Here is an outline of the Shibir topics and what it will cover. Please Click Here to see Event Flyer

What the Shibir is all about: All Jains accept the Moksha (Liberation) as the ultimate spiritual goal. In the mind of most Jains the Liberation, a blissful state is the most desirable aspect of the life then any worldly gains. The passage or the journey towards the Moksha is the pursuit that has to be undertaken by the individuals wishing to reach such destination.

Samyag Darshan, Samyaktva or Samkit, Self Realization, Bodhi, are all the synonyms that indicates the beginning or starting point for such journey to reach the Liberation. It is a challenge by itself for many Jains to understand what this “Samyktva” really is.

Is it possible to attain “Moksha” in present time from where we are (B harat Kshetra)? If not, how can someone pursue and achieve Samyaktva now and here. Are any/all the religious practices pursued before attaining Samyktva, useful at all or are they worthless? What should and could be the least yet attainable spiritual goal for all Jains? Is the true faith in Jainism called Samyaktva or Atma Anubhuti (Swanubhuti) the true Samyaktva?

Why one should attend and what to expect: These questions and many more aspects of Samyag Darshan will be comprehensively addressed in this shibir. The shibir will help you understand, clarify and bring the guidance provided by Tirthankars and Gitartha Gururs about the most important spiritual journey one can undertake.

Everyone, at any level of philosophical & religious understanding can expect to get insights and answers to their questions. One will be able to incorporate some practical aspects including exercises to commence such a spiritual journey on their own as a result of this shibir.

Time Line of the Shibir: Each day will have four sessions of one and half hours each with enough time for breaks in between. Posted time for the shibir will be strictly followed.

Day 1 - Day 3 Friday/Saturday/Sunday July 12/13/14 2019
