Dr. Hukam Chand Bharill is a learned scholar of Jainism. He is MA in literature and Ph.D. (University of Indore) in Jainism.Much more than his formal qualifications, he is bestowed with several titles and honorary degrees,
such as Vidhyavachaspati, Vanivibhushana, Adhyatma Shiromani, Mahmaopadhyaya, Nyaytirth, etc.
The Prime Minister of India awarded him the title of Jain Ratna in India and the same was awarded by Acharya Shri Sushil Kumarji in the USA
He will be with us for an empowering Swadhyay on Jainism.

Classes For Pathshala Students on July 7 and July 8, 2018 conducted By Swadhyakar Vidhi from Dharampur and for Adults from July 9 - July 11, 2018Atmarpit Vidhi from Dharampur, India, will offer the following classes from July 7 to 11. Atmarpit Vidhi is a trained professional and has conducted classes in India and other countries. These sessions are in English, use multimedia. and are based on Jain principles.
All classes will be held in the Jain Center in Classroom 1 upstairs

Chaumasi Chaudas
Chaumasi Chaudas:Jain people celebrate this festival three times a year, on the fourteenth day of Kartik, Falgun and Ashadh months.
They also give some charity and donation on that day for earning the good "Karma"
Chaumasi Chaudas Dev Vandan will start at 2:30 pm followed by Pratikraman, on July 26, 2018.
The significance of Chaumasi Chaudas:
The Chaturmas or Chaumas implies the period of four months that starts from Ashadi Purnima (June-July) and ends on the Karthika Purnima (October - November). This four-month period in India is marked by monsoon and hence known as Varsha Vaas. The rains bring vegetation, making the earth green. In ancient times, there was minimal road connectivity. Hence, the environment was filled with rich fauna in the rainy season. Jainism views plants as lives with senses and feelings. Non-violence is strictly emphasized in Jainism. To save vegetation from the human movements during Chaturmas, Jain Sadhus used to avoid traveling during these four months. Sadhus commit themselves to prayers and meditation during Chaturmas seeking the welfare for all. This concept of non-violence marks the spirit behind the Chaumasi Chaudas. To awake the internal power, they practice spirituality. Hence, Chaturmas is the period to uprise spirituality within oneself. In modern times, however, the auspiciousness of Chaturmas is still the same. It is the time to perform penance by becoming spiritual.
Wellness Challenge - Sit-Up Straight
For the upcoming weekly challenge, we are challenging the participants to “Sit Up Straight." I know, I know. Sitting up straight is really this week’s challenge? Unless you are a ballet dancer or in the military - occupations where poor posture is really noticed - you probably don’t pay much attention to your posture. Posture is more than just a function of the way someone sits or stands. It impacts how much pressure these positions place on the lower back and other muscles and joints.
