YJP is happy to announce that the 2007 YJP Conference will be in St. Petersburg, FL. The dates of this year's conference are Friday, September 28th through Monday, October 1st. This year's event will feature exciting programming of the religious, professional, and social variety. As always, this is an excellent opportunity to network with other young Jain professionals, meet old friends, and learn a little bit at the same time. Join us for a weekend of the Basics..... and a little more.

In addition to the recreational activities planned, we will have some interactive sessions on various Jain topics facilitated by our peers. The goal of the sessions will be to use contemporary case studies and ethical dilemmas to better understand basic Jain principles such as

  • Non-Violence (Ahimsa),
  • Non-Possessiveness (Aparigraha),
  • Multiplicity of Viewpoints (Anekantvad),
  • and others

and to learn how to apply these principles in every moment of our lives. Through dialogues and deliberations, participants will gain a clear concept of the Basics of Jainism. We will learn how to apply Jain principles to the real life challenges that we as young professionals face in our relationships, careers, and spiritual growth. In this process, we will also learn more about each other and form deep connections. We look forward to you joining us on this journey!
