Published: 13.08.2004

This is a true example of love for animals. Coimbatore Jains are running a home for orphaned cows. The "Gaushala" has animals which have been adopted or donated. The cattle shed currently caters to more than 700 heads of cattle. The daily expenditure is approximately Rs. 30,000. Besides giving fodder and nutrient-rich water the shed also has employed qualified veterinarians to look after the animals. The cowshed is run by people from the Jain community who have migrated from Gujarat.
