ज्ञानावरणीय कर्म के मतिज्ञान आदि(मति ज्ञानावरणीय, श्रुत ज्ञानावरणीय, अवधि ज्ञानावरणीय, मनपर्यव ज्ञानावरणीय, केवल ज्ञानावरणीय) पांच भेद/उत्तर प्रकृतियाँ होती है।

English:

Sensory knowledge-obscuring, etc. are the five categories of Jnānāvaraniya Karma.

Since knowledge is of five types mentioned in chapter one, the knowledge-obscuring Karma also is of the same five categories. The Karma that obscures Matijnān (sensory knowledge) is called Matijnānāvaraniya; that, which obscures Shrutjnān (oral or verbal knowledge), is called Shrutjnā-nāvaraniya; that, which obscures Avadhijnān (clairvoyance), is cailed Avadhijnānāvaraniya; that, which obscures Manah-paryayjnān (mind-reading capability), is called Manah-paryayjnānāvaraniya and that, which obscures Kevaljnān (omniscience), is called Kevaljnānāvaraniya Karma.
