Shravak Nishtha Patra

Published: 14.02.2016

Terapanth Shravak Sangh (lay followers organization) is a wonderfully disciplined and devoted religious organization. The Maryadas (Conventions) constituted by Acharya Bhikshu are being continued by the successive Acharyas and obeyed word by word by the Shraman Sangh (Monastic Order) which forms a strong foundation of Terapanth Dharm Sangh. From a long time a need was felt for some Conventions for the lay followers.

On the180th commemoration of Acharya Bhikshu's Nirvana, Acharya Tulsi introduced the Shravak Nishtha Patra (letter of faithfulness which must be followed by the Terapanthi lay followers). This letter had been accomplished for that requisition.

Conventions of Shravak Nishtha Patra are given below.

  1. I will be devoted forever towards the Maryada of Acharya Bhikshu, Terapanth Dharm Sangh and its Acharya.
  2. I will be diligently conscious for the Integrity of Terapanth Dharm Sangh and will never praise any separate groupism.
  3. I will never patronise any Talokar (debarred person) from Terapanth Dharm Sangh.
  4. I will never support any kind of activity against the commandment of Acharya.
  5. If I experience any blemish committed by Sadhu or Sadhvi, will tell them or the Acharya only in a polite manner and will never spread to others and advertise it.
  6. I will keep the sanctity of my eating habits forever.
  7. I will practise one Samayika or veneration for at least 20 minutes daily.
