Mahavira's Scripture Of Health: [09.10] Food And Health - Rasoparityaga

Published: 05.06.2007

The fourth way to maintain health is the avoidance of certain tastes. Do not eat the items of all tastes every day. Sometimes eat the items of certain tastes and sometimes avoid. The body would be strengthened by maintaining such a balance and the ejectment of the foreign substances from the body would also become easier. There is an arrangement of vigaya-varjana in our Dharma Sangha. On the eighth and fourteenth days as well as on other days there is an instruction to follow vigaya-varjana. This is one method of rasa-parityaga.
