Delhi, June 27th 2005

Today H. H. Acharya Mahaprajna, actuator of non-violence march (Ahimsa Yatra) entered Delhi, the capital of India, awaited by a grand gathering.

The presence of Terapanth associations like Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, Terapanth Mahila Mandal, Kanya Mandal, and Kishor Mandal, whose members attended the assembly in their white uniforms, was enriching the procession.

Adhyatma Sadhana Kendra was reached after passing many streets and turning in to a grand meeting there.

The Terapanth associations in a Civic Reception welcomed H.H. Acharyashree; among the speakers were the president of Pravas Samiti, Sri M.L.Sethia, Lieutenant Governor Sri B.L. Joshi, Chief Minister Shila Dikshit, and Ex-Chief Minister Shahib Singh.

The opposition leader in Delhi assembly, Pro Jagdish Mukhi, and the mayor of Delhi presented the welcome address to H.H. Many office bearers of different organisations also appreciated cordially Acharyashree’s presence in the capital.

Vision & Thinking Is To Put Into Action

Acharyashree Mahaprajna told the gathering that during non-violence journey (Ahimsa Yatra) all have made efforts to understand the problems of violence. To go forward in solving these problems, one first has to study and perceive the problem.

Further H.H. Acharyashree brought out,

“We have been able to analyse the problem and found out that reactionary violence and hunger are effectively increasing violence. The attention of those, who have, should be attracted towards those, who do not have. People are only talking about the developments made, which in reality are misconceived; violence is spreading under this development. To attract the attention of the people to this, we have undertaken this journey [Ahimsa Yatra] and today reached to Delhi.

I believe in thinking and while talking with higher strata of society felt that action is not taken in the right direction; they were not serious to this problem of violence. They also do not have time to think and act in this direction.

Everybody should make serious efforts to understand the culture of Non-Violence. On one side, we see that violent organisations are on the increase and many organisations are falling on their line. We are overlooking on the other hand from where they are getting their strength.

In my view, there are three important, out of many causes for violence,

  • Insanity of casteism
  • Religion
  • Hunger

Police and security forces are trying to mitigate violent organisations, but new organisations are coming up. Some people are killed; others take their place. Until and unless the causes of violence are not removed, police or any other agency cannot stop it.

We had experienced that reconciliatory actions taken in communal harmony are the means to reduce communal violence, whereas confusion, fear, and egoistic view create the supporting environment for it."
