On 17th May 2007, Samani Prasanna Pragya and Samani Manan Pragya visited House of Commons on invitation of Young Indian Vegetarian Society UK, directed by Nitin Mehta, to honour Shri Ravishankarji Maharaj and Lord Swaraj Paul with Mahaveer Award for their remarkable efforts in the field of non-violence.

  • Shri Ravishankar was awarded for his peace initiatives promoting non-violence and universal brotherhood,
  • Lord Paul for promoting vegetarianism and ethical values.
8174170163 8174174645 The programme commenced with the recitation of Namokar Mahamantra and Mangal Path in the English version. Samani Prasanna Pragya said in a short speech that Jainism explains non-violence in its deepest form. According to Jain Scriptures Parasparopagraho Jeevanam, all living beings are mutually interdependent. This dictum can bring harmony and peace to the entire planet. She conveyed her congratulations to both award winners for theirexcellent work and expressed her gratitude towards Nitin Mehta for recognising and appreciating the work of these two dignitaries. 8174206864
