Mohanlal Jain (1919-2014)[1]

Dear Friends,

I feel sad to inform you about the demise of my father Shri Mohanlal Jain, on 24th of the last month.

Founder of ANUVIBHA and many other institutions, he spent around seven decades for service to the humanity. I, as his son, feel so blessed to have father like him who guided me by his deeds and not by words. Since my early childhood, I found him working tirelessly for the downtrodden section of the society and struggling for the abolishing evil customs prevalent in the society. He was sent to a traditional school for study, the day first when he entered the school he saw a teacher beating a student mercilessly. He spontaneously returned back to home and then never went to school again. May be, that was his first lesson of life. In his life span, he started many schools based on child psychology (like Montessori and Geesubhai models of education). And then, in Rajsamand he eventually gave a new model, the Balodaya model of education.

At the age of 95, he left for the heavenly abode in a spiritually awakened stage. Since last 15 days, he gradually stopped taking any intake of food and won all the emotions in fully conscious state. He was a guiding light for us. I believe that even in the absence of his physical presence, the beacon blazed by him will always show us the right path.

I feel lighter by sharing my feelings about my father. At this juncture, I commit myself more strongly to work for the betterment of the society, especially for children. Your blessings will give more power to my commitment.

Regards.
