How To Live To Be Human Towards A World Of Peace Through Co-Prosperity

The argument of true health, happiness, freedom and peace stands in close relation with the human state of mind. The mind cannot truly understand anything if we don’t do research in a scientific, philosophical and religious way. For all living being their own life is more important than that of any other. To be selfish is an inherent instinct to protect our life. But every person wants to live on a equal level, like every other person, so a distorted desire for example like “I  want to live, just me” cannot be fulfilled.

The way of life to be human is co-prosperity. How to cooperate reciprocally to live better? This is the law of Nature and to put this way of life into practice with consciousness, is the principle of spiritual life. Any living being lives and exists thanks to collaboration, even if unconsciously. This harmonious cooperation is called yoga. This way of life is Nature, it is true love. To study and to construct this way of life is the true purpose of education. To live together in the midst of egoists, the first important thing one needs is a heart of harmony. What must we do to mutually collaborate to live better?

To cooperate mutually in order to live better it is a necessity to understand the fundamental wisdom of harmony. This is education of virtue, this heart is called love. Incorporating this capacity is the fundamental meaning of education. This education begins within the family. In the human education up to now this important task was missing or more than missing, on the contrary, our so-called education has an influence in the opposite direction.

When people join together and think only for their own benefit, a reality is created in which each person must defend themselves from the others. War finds its root in this type of human condition. Peace in the world is possible only for a society in which everyone is committed to co-prosperity.
If the point of view with whom we are living is that to think only for one's own, benefit like: "If I live well, I am happy" then the others have no other alternative than to defend themselves against this provocation.

If we commit ourselves in the realization of peace in the world without understanding this reality, to say only that we don't want the war become useless words that will not change the reality. The history of human society has always been an history of war. But if we think well, if we think deeply, war is useless, unnecessary, indeed it is the confirmation of the biggest stupidity.

The selfish and selfishness are one source of evil, a dirty heart, a sinful heart. Religions teach that first of all we must understand that in worldly existence "we live in sin". But it is rare that people are aware that selfishness is the source of all sin. Whoever understands this, when he realizes that it is not easy to overcome that condition, it is impossible he doesn't have the thought "How dirty is my own heart."

When we understand this reality deeply, then finally a heart is born that understands co-prosperity, such a heart is called a religious heart. Without a consciousness of sin and without a heart of gratitude, a religious heart will not be born.
We cannot incorporate the fundamental principle of a natural human heart. Instead of developing our animal heart, a human heart is that of co-prosperity. This is called culture. This commitment is considered spiritual culture.
For this, there exists a process of study on a deeper level and this study must be applied. The more we proceed correctly in this process of study, the more our education improves and consequently also the co-prosperity is improved - which is the maximum use of culture for oneself and for others, and this is defined as spiritual culture.

The more we proceed along the process of deeper study, the more the capacity of understanding improves, and therefore the interpretation and finally the capacity to apply the acquired knowledge increases. In this way we would develop also the spiritual culture, but in reality civilization has increased only its materialistic culture without the accomplishment of the spiritual culture. That is the reason why we now see the damage of materialistic civilization.

I myself, when I was fifteen, walked barefoot around Japan; a pilgrimage for the peace in the world. Also a child’s heart understands the importance of the peace - but what was the meaning of the peace itself I didn't understand then.

In 1971 I visited India for the first time. This experience for me was a new stimulation.

I did also some business when I was young. When I had success, I stopped it. With the hope that from the interest of the body, it would go to the spirit. I guided persons to holistic health. But, in reality, it is only increased the support in a selfish way and my hope, the direction, toward peace, toward the true spirituality, didn't realize. In this way I influenced more than one hundred thousands of persons in the world of health, and I left.

I fasted repeatedly and I continued to meditate. The biggest violence of human society is war, but the nucleus of the society is any single person. If someone is egoistic, he hurts others through his way of judging things, his opinion, his prejudices all around; the worst egoism is hypocrisy: all these lead to violence. The parents that have a insufficient capacity of understanding towards children, cannot fulfill education in a correct way: this too is a form of violence.
Life reacts through a stimulation: sometimes it is necessary a strong stimulation, at other times it is necessarily a more soft stimulation. The life is neither monotonous, nor mechanic. To understand this correct stimulation a mother’s heart is needed: the capacity to forgive everything and to have never ending patience, and a father’s heart that is: the capacity of deeper observation to give right stimulation at the right moment.

Peace is a path that can be realized only through the practice of sacred love. Mahatma Gandhi, for whom I have utmost respect, gives to us a great example by saying: “without being detached from the worldly society, what can we do to evolve the natural human heart?” To incorporate the fundamental base of a religious heart a way of life of non-possession is necessary. To reach this we must develop the human heart through unconditional service.

The highest human intellectuality is the capacity to study through suffering in this way. Through the use of experience, be thankful of being capable of transforming suffering in a creative way. The present world of religion and religious people seems to lack the commitment to counterbalance the materialistic culture.

To research the truth there are two doors: in yoga the main issue is ‘the door of no teachings’, but it is also open to ‘the door of teaching’. The door of no teaching gives importance to experience, its purpose is satori, his final objective is the truth.

On the other hand the door of teaching gives importance to understanding. Its purpose is salvation and the final object is God. In the ‘door of no teaching’ the instrument is meditation and rationality. In the ‘door of teaching’ the instrument on the way is prayer and the development of intuition. Jainism and Buddhism have the fundamental character of no teaching, while the Christian and the Muslim religions have a fundamental character of teaching. One who has the position of spiritual guide must be capable to understand both ways of researching.

In my own Dojo it is forbidden to speak in a negative way, but it is permitted to have criticism, because talking in a bad way it is an expression of selfishness, however criticism means, through observation, with respect for others, to give advice in order to improve the situation.

Without observation we can not criticize. Adults must be criticized in public while children must be criticized in private. Praise, on the contrary, must be done to adults privately, while to the children in public. It seems to me that actually this is increasing the children’s heart inside the adults.

Instead, when our spirituality is deepened truly, neither criticism nor praise will affect our state if mind.

The scolding of parents to their children could be part of an education of love; but in reality almost always the parents are getting angry for selfish reasons under the name of education. With respect to others, to be criticized, it is the heart of love, but in reality almost always, under the name of critic, they are only talking in negative terms of others.

To become sad or to be happy for ourselves its easy. Instead to become sad and to be happy for others makes a heart of love sprout up.

I sing a song or a song is sung. The meaning and the direction are changing depending on where we put the core of the subject. The authenticity, even if we want, will not spread out. Like a mothers heart we must wait, wait, wait, with patience, never-ending patience.
