Shrimad Rajchandra Vachanamrut Available as an Audio Book

Shrimad Rājchandra was a great seer and one of the most recognized Jain sages of modern times who has made priceless contributions to Jain philosophy and literature. He was a great philosopher, a brilliant poet, social reformer, thinker, and a self-realized saint. Shrimad’s writings come from his experience of life and at present his teachings are widely followed by many Jain and Hindu aspirants seeking spiritual awakening and self-realization.

Shrimad Rājchandra was born on the auspicious day of full-moon (Dev-Diwāli) of the month of Kārtik, 1924 V.S. (November 9, 1867) at Vavāniā, Morbi district, Gujarat State, India. As per Indian calendar, this year his birthday falls on November 17, 2013 Sunday (3 days from now).

Shrimad’s personal writings to his close associates and his personal notes are the essence of his writings of Jain religion.  In his short life of 33 years, he has written about 1000 pages of the spiritual message of eternal importance to his close associates and in his personal notes.

Shrimad always maintained that since he had not taken the five great vows of conduct (dikshā or sainthood), he was not eligible to deliver the sermon to the public.  Therefore, even with his wealth of knowledge, he did not deliver any lecture to the masses.

After his death, all of his writings are compiled into a book known as Shrimad Rajchandra Vachanamrut.  In his writings, he has given us priceless spiritual gifts including Mokshamālā, Ätmasiddhi-shāstra, Apurva Avasar and many other spiritual writings in the form of letters, articles, and poems.

He explained Bhagawān Mahāvir’s teachings in simple words. Now these teachings have become accessible to ordinary people through published literature, websites, and other media and we have the unique opportunity to learn about the inner state of a truly self-realized person.

As with many great personalities, Shrimad’s greatness was not recognized in his life time. Shrimad was not popular among Jains because he spoke about the faults in Jain society and the traditions being carried out without understanding the proper meaning and purpose behind them. Many people have recognized his greatness after his death.

Shrimad Rajchandra Vachanamrut (1000 page book) is now available as an Audio Book (MP3 files) recited and prepared by Pujya Shri Jaisinhbhai of Devalali, India.  Each letter and other topics of Vachanamrut are compiled separately and this way total of 1107 audio book files are prepared.  Shri Dineshbhai D Mehta of Valkeshvar Mumbai organized these files for easy access and make data available to Jain eLibrary project.  We are very thankful to Pujya Shri Jaisinhbhai and Shri Dineshbhai D Mehta (ref www.shrimadrajchandra.org) for making Shrimad’s Vachanamrut in Audio Book available to the general public via Jain eLibrary website.

We have also converted these 1107 audio files into 14 zip Audio files (each zip file will be about 250 MB in size) for anyone who desires to download the entire Vachanamrut Audio Book in their local computer.

Please click the Audio/Video link located in the left column of Jain eLibrary website (www.jainelibrary.org) home page to view and download these Audio Book files

Important Clarification about our View on Vegan Way of Living Life

Jaina Education Literature and Jain eLibrary projects are pioneered and run by the same group of individuals who are totally dedicated to provide Jain religion education to the children born in North America. However we have several advisors (monks and scholars) of India who provide guidance and support to certain aspects of our activities.  We would like indicate that all these individuals do not agree the way we think with regards to Vegan Way of life.  In fact most of them do not agree with our way of thinking.

Any article we compile and publish is our personal understanding of Jain principles and how to apply these principles in our daily life in American cultural environment.  We believe that we do reasonable homework before we publish any such article.  Our intension is to make information available to our readers.  It is upto the readers to accept/reject such information.  You can send us your comment () and we will try our best to answer you.
