Day five of Paryushan 2011 was celeberated as 'ANUVRAT CHETNA DIWAS' i.e. 'ANUVRAT CONSCIOUSNESS DAY' at South Kolkata Terapanth Bhawan in pious presence of Sadhvi Kanakshri Ji. Addressing the gathering of hundreds of lay followers Sadhvi Kanakshri Ji said - 'Anuvrat is a great movement propagated by Acharya Shri Tulsi for moral upliftment of the people. we must practice imbibing moral values in our acts and deeds to keep our soul protected from all evils, save inner power, to create harmony amongst people, family, society. We must try to stay firm with high moral values in adverse and unfavorable circumstances. These small vows onamed Anuvrat have been prescribed for each and every class,be they students, businessmen etc. The small vows can be accepted by any one to practice contentment and thereby lead to purification of the soul. at present Acharya Mahashraman Ji is preaching the masses of the country living in villages to imbibe moral values by leaving bad habits of smoking, drinking wine etc which leads the poor to stay poorer and disturbs the peaceful co-existence. Many villagers and farmers have come forward during the Ahimsa Yatra to take small vows of not continuing their bad habits and leaving them at once'
