Karkala Jain Temples
Karkala is a small town located in the southern part of Karnataka. The temples of Karkala are located on a hillock on the outskirts of the town.
- One of the most important temple is the Caturmukha basadi.
- Consecrated by Vir Pandya deva, the king of Bairarava family in 1432, the basadi was completed in 1586.
- It is built in the form of a square mandapa or hall, with a lofty doorway and pillared portico on each of its four sides.
