Asking for forgiveness and forgiving others are the two important steps to purify our souls. Jain Vishwa Bharati of North America embarked on this noble journey in the eighteen days of Paryushan in New Jersey and Daslakshan in Boston. To carry this journey forward JVBNA celebrated “Kshamapana Diwas on Sep. 25 at American Legion Hall, NJ.

The celebration began with Namaskar Mantra recital and melodious but inspirational bhajans led by Samani Sanmati Pragyaji and Samani Shukla Pragyaji.

This was followed by a small act by MCs Hansraj & Vandana Nahata to illustrate how prone we are to err in our family and social lives. Thus periodic actions of forgiving and seeking forgiveness are essential to erase unpleasant memories - basically these are the keys to lasting happiness.

“SHOW WHAT YOU KNOW” a knowledge gaining quiz program conducted by Samani Shukla Pragyaji was thoroughly enjoyed by participants as well as audience. The questions were simple to understand and yet were challenging. We appreciate all ten individual participants Neena Shah, Jayshree Sheth, Virendra Jain, Mahipal Jain, Sanjay Jain, Kokila Turakhia, Ratanmala Jain, Pratap Jain, Jaychand Dugar and Ajay Jain who showed their confidence and enthusiasm in answering the questions. The winner was Sanjay Jain and the runners were Ajay Jain, Jaychand Dugar and Pratap Jain. Jaychand Dugar, Virendra Jain, Sunil Mehta and Madhumita Sacheti gave their brief speech on Kshamapana.

During Paryushan all devotees were asked to maintain a sheet of Sanyam and Tapasya. The following individuals scored high points: Divyesh Shroff, Jaya Parmar and Nirmala Kothari. In children's category Manu Nahata got highest points.

Respected Samani Sanmati Pragyaji inspired the audience to learn the ABCD of Kshamapana. She said that to lead a peaceful, purposeful and meaningful life we need to develop positive Attitude, Balance, Compassion and Devotion. The program concluded with Mangal Path led by Samanijis and was followed by Sadharmik Vatsalya.

JVB New Jersey would like to appreciate the following sponsors of this event: Sunil & Varsha Mehta, Hansraj & Vandana Nahata, Kokila & Rajnikant Turakhia, Madhumita & Sandeep Sacheti, Tejal Gosalia.
