Renowned Jain monk and spiritual head of the Terapanth Anuvrat sect Acharya Mahapragya today passed away in Sardarshahr town of Churu district of Rajasthan this afternoon.
The nonagenarian monk, who died of cardiac arrest, had reached Sardarshahr recently for Chaturmaas Monsoon sojourn. He breathed his last around 1450 hrs today.

, this extraordinary boy - Nath Mall - became the disciple of Acharya Tulsi from his childhood and had transformed himself into a thinker, philosopher-monk who had spearheaded the Anuvrat movement propounded by his mentor Achraya Tulsi.
The monk, who was known for his work on Prekshya Dhyan -- meditation-- and Jeevan Vigyan, also attracted attention of the world by carrying out Ahimsa yatra (March for Non Violence) in the country for strengthening communal harmony.
He was spearheading the affairs of Terapanth sect as its spiritual head and the Jain Vishwa Bharati deemed university in his capacity as Anushasta administrative and spiritual head.
Rajasthan Governor Shivraj Patil and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have condoled the monk's demise and commended his role for strengthening social harmony, non-violence and promoting spirituality for improving quality of life and positivity among people.
Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Deependra Singh Shekhawat, Education Minister Bhanwar Lal Meghwal and several other dignitaries have also condoled the Acharya's death.
