After the completion of the training programme with the group from Italy, the same event was conducted at JVB London from 4th to 10th November 2009. The one-week course was attended by 43 people including 12 youth participants. There were 8 two-hour sessions during weekday evenings and weekend afternoons. There was a 95% attendance rate every day. Each session started with the recitation of Namaskar Mahamantra and Mangal Bhavana by Samanijis.

Every day there was lecture on particular topic, delivered by Dr. S. L. Gandhi for 45 minutes followed by a question and answer session of 15 minutes. Topics of discussion were: Meaning and concept of non-violence, Relationship between peace and non-violence, Roots of violence, Relative Economics, Vegetarianism and Veganism, Non-violence and vision of sustainability etc. Participants found all the topics very relevant and useful.

Every day a one-hour practical session was conducted by Samanijis. Samani Rohit Pragya briefly explained how a particular exercise can bring change in our behaviour and emotion and consequently helps to build a non-violent personality. Samani Prasanna Pragya led the practice of Kayotsarga, Dirgha Shvas Preksha, Jyotikendra Preksha, Anupreksha of compassion, friendliness etc. Participants spoke of how they felt very relaxed and peaceful after the session.

On Saturday, Jay Lakani was invited to share views on ‘Ahimsa in Hinduism and Gandhian philosophy’. He explained the topic in very light manner using narration and humorous stories. On Sunday, Dr. Atul Shah spoke on ‘Essential ingredients of non-violence’. Other topics were covered by Dr. S. L. Gandhi. He presented the concept of Ahimsa in many different aspects. His speeches were very informative, modern and detailed. The open discussions were also beneficial. A small booklet of vows was provided to all participants so that they could take a small resolution to apply non-violence in their day-to-day life. Participants enjoyed the training course and requested Samanijis to conduct a three or five day camp to discuss non-violence minutely.
