Vrat (vows) are not traditions, but source of internal energy

-Sadhvi Kanak shri

In the pious presence of Sadhvishri Kanak shri, a learned disciple of Acharya Sri Mahaprajnaji, a workshop on ‘twelve vrat (12 vows) was organized on 26th July 2009 by Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, at Mahasabha Bhawan Kolkata,.

Sadhvi Kanak shri ji threw light on the usefulness of 12 vrat classes and said that the classes organized   with the blessings of pujyaprawar Acharyashree and yuvacharyashree are the need of the hour. The training under such workshops shall enlighten the lay followers and the youth in particular to incorporate the practice of 12 vows in their daily life, if understood well. The practice of 12 vows in life helps one get gradual relief from karmic bondage and is useful for the society and nation as well. It helps environmental balance and in removal of disparity amongst various classes/grades of people. It ensures fearlessness for others thereby it can help eradicate terror and non-violent actions by bringing fantastic changes in the heart of the ignored lot. The knowledge of elders will constitute new view towards vats in the life of youngsters. Vrat is not only a tradition but it is wonderful beginning to awake internal power.

Sadhvi Madhulata ji addressing the participants and the lay followers said –‘that vrat is a protector to safeguard the person. This protects from ruin and bewildering the person. For example, as it is dangerous to ride a car without break and light likewise without vrat, abstinence and discipline our life is of no use.

Preksha Trainer Smt. Alka Sankhla from Surat explained the importance of 12 vrats in the life of a lay follower in an interesting manner.

A special video Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad of 12 vrat was shown to the gathering. On this occasion 12 vrat acceptance letter was signed by many shravaks.
