Key Note Speech At World Congress Of Faiths

On May 7, 2009, Samanijis were invited to the World Congress of Faiths to deliver a key note speech on ‘Relevance of Nonviolence in 21st century’. The event was organised at Gurudhvarain Hounslow and attended by people from various organisations. Dr. Vinod Kapasi introduced both the Samanijis and requested Samani Prasanna Pragya to present her young husband lecture.

Samani prasanna pragya congratulated the new committee of WCF and paid thanks to the previous committee for doing hard work for the benefit of whole humanity. In her speech she said that non violence is not only relevant in the 21st century but it has been relevant through out the past centuries and will also remain relevant in the coming centuries. If one can not live without violence, it is also true that one can not live without non-violence. She drawn a Picture of violent modern world and explained the causes of violence like hunger, poverty, racial frenzy, sectarian fanaticism, uncontrolled desires, unrestrained consumption etc.

Moreover, she said that to build a peaceful society it is necessary to bring a change in the way of thinking of people by providing them the training of non violence. She mentioned about a unique journey Ahimsa Yatrawhich means ‘Peace march’ started in 2001 by H.H Acharya Mahapragyaji in India.

Concluding her lecture, she said that the true understanding of Non-violence and the proper training in that can certainly remove the causes of violence and bring peace in the world. At the end of the lecture, Samaniji explained the activities taking place at Jain Vishwa BharatiLondon and invited all participants to visit.

Rabbi Jackie Tabick, Chair person of WCForganization presented the book ‘Beacons of The Light' to Samanijis. On behalf of whole committee, she paid gratitude towards Samaniji for accepting their request and delivering a wonderful speech.
