►Seventh Day Of Paryushan Festival

Acharya Mahapragya: Balance of Action and Non-Action is essential

Man is equipped with three things to act. These are mind, words & body. Man can’t live the life of only action or of only non-action. Balance in both is mandatory for survival. Mental, verbal and bodily action is necessary to execute any work. For all action, there is certain limit and for all work, there is some purpose. If a person continues to talk or walk for a whole day, it will be injurious to him. There must be a proper combination of action and non-action in life. No to only action, No to only Non-action then only it is possible for us to explore the hidden internal treasure. Man is the ocean of energy, knowledge, happiness & consciousness. Lots of pearls & precious are lying within him. But for realization of all these, he needs to slow down his external & internal metabolism activities. This thought has developed the process of Kayotsarg to slow down the speech & verbal action. Silence means to give rest to vocal cords hence kayotsarg is practiced over larynx. When mind is busy with memory, imaginations, thoughts, this indicates that vocal cord is also in action.

Acharya Mahapragya addressing public on the seventh day of Paryushan Festival which was observed as "Meditation Day"

When thoughts continue during meditation then we concentrate the mind on one point restraining it from diversified variants. At the highest level of concentration of mind, speech & body, chemical secretion of body changes. Awful changes into sanctified. The best tool to control the undesirable activity is meditation. Hence when one starts practicing the meditation, he should have clear understanding that meditation is essential to live fit, healthy & pleasant life.

There is one more world of micro where we can see but unable to touch anything. Non- action is the process of moving towards the micro from macro. Meditation is the art of living good life.

The above views are expressed by Acharya Mahapragya on the occasion of seventh day of auspicious Paryushan Festival. The seventh day is observed as Meditation Day.
