Prakrit award

BANGALORE: The National Institute of Prakrit Studies and Research, Shravanabelagola, has selected German scholars Willem Bollee (81) and Klaus Bruhn (80) for its Prakrit Jnanabharati International Award for 2005 and 2006 respectively.

Hampa Nagarajaiah, convener, told presspersons here on Thursday that the institute had constituted this award to honour the international scholars for their contribution to the growth of Prakrit, an ancient language.
