Today “Mahapragya Hall” has witnessed a rare memorable moment of Jain inititiation ceremony when 72 year old Disa’s businessman Shantilal Boradia wearing the white dress of Jain monk presented himself to Acharya Mahapragya and Yuvacharya Mahashraman with request to make him part of his monk community.

Before starting the basic proceedings of inititiation, Acharya Mahapragya recites the holy mantra with bows to “Arhats” and then asked his family members about their consent to initiate Shantilal as jain monk. All family members give their unsent. Then Acharya Mahapragya recites the main chapter and pledge of monkhood. He further makes him to take vow of non violence for whole life and to apologies for all the past sins.

After this Shantilal become a Jain monk. His hair removing ritual was conducted by Yuvacharya Mahashraman who accepted him as a member of monk community and gave the symbol of Ahimsa- rajoharan.

New monk gave his warm regards to the Acharya and Yuvacharya’s feet. Acharya Mahapragya while giving the first Guru teaching to him said “you should move always forward on the path of right knowledge, right conduct, right vision, peace & ungreediness continuously. He then gave a new name “Muni Shantipriya” to him. All spectators bow to a new Muni Shantipriya.

Before becoming monk, Shantialal Boradia shared his experience and views. He said “I will try to brush my life while living in a monk’s life. I am feeling unbounded happiness which I can’t imagine ever”.

President of Parmarthik Sikshan Sanstha Shri Kanyalal Chajjed read the permission letter.

If Determination Is Strong, Success Is At Feet. - Acharya Mahapragya

Acharya Mahapragya in his speech said that as per Jain philosophy’s “mutation concept” mutation is happening each second, continuously. Thoughts too are changing regularly hence it is said that the dedication and faith with which person enters into monk’s life that shall be strengthen with time through determination. Determination should be strong and it gives fruit definitely in life. An unimagined can be happened with strong determination. With this a household can led the life of monk staying at home only. This is the reason why pledge of concentration and strong determination is taken before starting the preksha meditation.

Inititiation - Rebirth During Life - Yuvacharya Mahashraman

On the occasion, Yuvacharya Mahashraman said that inititiation is the transformation of life hence it is rebirth during the life. Today’s program fantasy is looking quiet attractive. This function is the function of acceptance of sayam in which a head of family accepted way of non materialism. We should take the inspiration from him to develop the quality of Sayam in us.

Possibility Of One More Inititiation Program

Acharya Mahapragya gives the permission to learn the monk’s pratikraman to five boys who are eager to inititiate in the Terapanth. Hence one more Inititiation Program may take place during the Jaipur stay of Acharya Mahapragya.
