Do Not Be Scared of Old Age

Signs of old age become evident after six or seven decades in one's life. How to keep healthy in old age? Every aged person is constantly plagued by that question. Mahavira says, Ma Bhaeyavvarn. Do not be afraid of old age. Do not be afraid of death. If you are afraid of old age, you would start having fear about what would happen when you grow old. People are more worried about provident fund for their old age. Think about the future, but not worry about it.

Worry about future also would hasten one's old age. Respected Gurudev's well-known aphorism is, "Think but do not worry; make arrangements but do not be in anguish." Do not worry, but think about the future. But if you start worrying about it, you would become old ten years earlier. The problem of old age can be solved not by giving oneself to worry and anguish, but by thinking and organising his life. If thinking and organising are proper, old age can be comfortable.
