Born on November 1, 1936 Mr. Dulichand Jain has been in the main stream of educational and social work for a long time, guiding the trends and operations of various organisations under his control and authority

His stint as the President of the Vivekananda Educational Trust and Vice-President of the Vivekananda Education Society involves promoting value based education and developing 5 rural schools and 12 other schools. He is also the Secretary of the Jain Vidyashram, which is a residential venture, for promoting the Jaina and Indian Samskaras in children. and still on the educational side, he is the Secretary of Vidya Bharati All India Educational Organisation, Tamil Nadu and Vice-President of the Bharat Vikas Parishad, Tamil Nadu State Board.

He was the Secretary of the council that established the Research Foundation for Jainology, which prompted a full fledged Department of Jainology to be instituted at University of Madras.

Mr. Dhulichand as the Convenor, has been instrumental in setting up Karuna Clubs, Indian Vegetarian Congress, Chennai and under his guidance, 50 schools have started Karuna Club activities promoting values of kindness, non~violence, vegetarianism etc

Mr. Dhulichand has also been involved in other organisations like Lions Clubs International, where he was the Former District Chairman and Lions Club of Madras Nandambakkam & Nagaur Jain Association, Chennai as its Former President and a life member of Shree S.S. Jain Educational Society, Chennai, Indian Red Cross Society and The Mylapore Academy.

Mr. Dhulichand Jain is the author of numerous articles and poems with credit for publishing in magazines including Jinvani, Jain Prakash, Jain Parampara, Sramana, Jain Bharati, jain Jagat and Panchjanay . He is also the author of Jinvani Ke Moti - a book in Hindi and Pearls of Jaina Wisdom in English. He also regularly delivers lectures on Jainism and Indian Educational Philosophy to audiences of all ages.

On the business side, Mr. Dulichand is one of the leading stockists and suppliers of Iron and Steel under the banner of Jain Industrial Corporation, Chennai.
