Pathshala Day Lunch Location Change

This Sunday, March 25th Pathshala Day, we will be providing boxed lunches in the Cultural Hall due to unavailability of Basement for serving lunches and Dining Area used for Aymbil Oli. You may take your lunch boxes home or you could eat outside of the building if space available. We may need to continue this until long-term solution or alternatives available.

Distribution of boxed lunches in the Cultural Hall on Sunday, March 25th:

1. People will line up outside the door of cultural hall facing dining hall

2. Line would form and continue besides walls of Cultural Hall.

3. Food station will be set up at outgoing door of cultural hall which leads to exit door of the temple.

4. Members will pick up boxed lunch and exit out from door.

We will try our best and will need your cooperation and understanding.

Parking:

You will have access to basement parking entering from Los Robles Street or park on Commonwealth Street. Please do not go around residential areas and in strip mall to park.

Got Veganism?

As Jains, we are known for having one of the strictest diets around the world. Ahimsa teaches us nonviolence, to any and all life forms - including the food we eat. Our vegetarian diets are practiced in a way to limit the amount of violence affecting other living beings. Each one of us has a different level of commitment when it comes to our individual diets, whether that means no root vegetables, no animal by-products, or simply no meat.

Wellness Challenge - 30 Minutes of Cardio Every Day

For the upcoming weekly challenge, we are challenging the participants to “30 Minutes of Cardio Every Day." Cardio exercise is an exercise that raises your heart rate. Face it our bodies were made to move. And we all know that to keep our muscles in shape we need to move them. This movement makes them stronger and stronger muscles make for a more efficient and healthy body. Your heart is a muscle. Therefore working it makes it stronger. A stronger cardio-vascular system means more capillaries delivering more oxygen to cells in your muscles. This enables your cells to burn more fat during both exercise an inactivity.
